Fastway Couriers Wins Major UK Business Award

Thursday, 13th February 2014; Fastway Couriers, one of Ireland’s most successful franchise companies has won the Best International Delivery Initiative for its Parcel Connect brand. The Awards are a key part of one of the UK’s most prestigious logistic events, The Home Delivery Conference, which attracts some of the UK’s most senior business strategists, customer service, logistics and marketing experts from some of the world’ leading retailers.

“Fastway Couriers launched the Parcel Connect service in October 2013 and since then we have experienced phenomenal growth. With our partners - Payzone – we now have nearly 700 parcel shop locations across the country and are seeing a 15-20% network growth every month. The idea that customers can send, collect or return their online retail purchases via their local convenience stores has really taken hold. While we were confident that the brand had a bright future, this award is a terrific accolade and is the first time an Irish courier company has been so publically rewarded for its e-commerce, innovation and customer service. Parcel Connect partners with some UK retailers including ASOS, Littlewoods and MissGuided. “We work particularly well with online retailers whose philosophy mirrors our own. Central to that philosophy is putting our customers first; ensuring value and providing convenience. UK retailers interested in increasing their online presence in the Irish market relate to what we can offer them and their customers via the Parcel Connect brand,” stated Danny Hughes, Parcel Connect manager.

The Delivery Excellence Awards 2014 took place in London’s Park Plaza (Westminster Bridge) last week.

Notes – How Parcel Connect Works

Parcel Connect offers Send, Collect and Return options and it works as follows;

  • Send – aimed at regular or once off customers who want to send a parcel. Log onto, select your local store, tell us where you want it to go, print and stick your label on the parcel and drop it to your designated store, ready for onward shipping. The Send option has been available for some months under the PostPlus brand but is now available from Parcel Connect.
  • Collect – when buying from any of our brands (such as ASOS, Littlewoods Ireland, Oxendales, MissGuided and Amazon) select your local store instead of your home address. Then collect at your convenience. You’ll also get a SMS text to say when it has arrived in store.
  • Return – log onto, select the retailer you bought it from, print off your returns label and drop it into your local store. From now on all Littlewoods Ireland deliveries into Ireland will contain a Parcel Connect label in the box. Customers simply fill in their account number, go online to find the nearest store and drop it in. From here it’s scanned at the counter and the customer gets a receipt/proof of posting that they can track.
