Mike Maloney - Executive Chairman

Mike has an exemplary track record as a senior executive at major corporations for more than 12 years. He was Chief Operations Officer at British Telecom Ireland from 2004 until 2008.

Mike has excellent experience in the payments sector having been executive chairman of Eurocommerce Payment Solutions between 2002 and 2004.

 

Jim Deignan - Chief Executive Officer

Jim has over twenty years experience in the Computer, Telecommunications and Electronic Payment Industries where he has held a number of senior positions. He is qualified in Finance and Technology via Trinity College. He has considerable experience in Corporate Development, Strategy and Operational Execution.

He joined Payzone Ireland as Managing Director in 2002 working with many of our key clients in expanding their brand presence within the fast moving consumer goods sector and positioning Payzone Ireland as the leading payments network in the market.

 


Nigel Bell - Chief Financial Officer

Nigel completed a first class honours Science degree in University College Dublin and then qualified as a Chartered accountant with KPMG. He spent two years with Allen McGuire and Partners where he worked in a private equity team acquiring and managing a portfolio of diverse companies.

Nigel spent several years with Elan and subsequently with Amarin Corporation and was Chief Financial Officer of this NASDAQ quoted company for 3 years.

Nigel joined Payzone in late 2002 and is currently head of Finance and Operations.

 

Robert Easton - Non-Executive Director

Dr. Robert Easton is an investment professional in The Carlyle Group based in London and focused on investment opportunities in Ireland. Previously, he was Co-head of Carlyle Europe Technology Partners, a fund focused on European growth capital and buyout opportunities in a variety of sectors including media, software, telecom, aerospace and defence, healthcare and technology. Prior to that, Dr. Easton headed-up Carlyle’s Buyout team in the UK.

Prior to joining Carlyle, Dr. Easton was Vice President of Corporate Development at Invensys plc with responsibility for the execution of acquisitions and disposals. Dr Easton was a key figure in the mid-nineties transformation of BTR from a diversified conglomerate to a focused engineering group and, following the merger of BTR and Siebe to form Invensys in 1999.

Dr. Easton joined BTR in 1996 from Trafalgar House, another major UK engineering group where he was Director of Corporate Finance and Planning with responsibility for strategic planning and acquisitions and disposals. Prior to becoming a corporate development executive, Dr. Easton spent eight years in the investment banking.

Dr. Easton has a first class honours degree in chemistry from Imperial College in London and a Doctorate in organic synthesis from Oxford University. In addition to his Directorships of Carlyle portfolio companies, Dr. Easton is a past Chairman of the British Venture Capital Association, a founding Director of Walker Guidelines Monitoring Group for private equity disclosure and a member of the Advisory Board of the Imperial College Business School.


 

Peter Garvey - Non-Executive Director


Peter Garvey is an investment professional in The Carlyle Group focusing on growth capital and buyout investment opportunities across all industry sectors in the Irish market. He is based in Dublin.

Mr. Garvey has over 15 years of experience across private equity, management consulting, and both leverage and corporate finance. Prior to joining Carlyle, Mr. Garvey was with the Private Equity Group of Goldman Sachs Asset Management where he was responsible for sourcing, executing and monitoring European investment opportunities across the secondary, co-investment and primary investment platforms.

He joined Goldman Sachs from McKinsey and Co. where he provided strategic advice and due diligence services to leading financial services and private equity firms across the globe.

Mr. Garvey received a BA (Hons) in economics and finance from Trinity College, Dublin and is a Fellow of the Institute of Chartered Accountants in Ireland.


 

Esmond Greene - Non-Executive Director

Esmond Greene is an investment professional in The Carlyle Group focusing on growth capital and buyout investment opportunities across all industry sectors in the Irish market.

Prior to joining Carlyle, Mr. Greene was an Associate at Evercore Partners in London where he focused on advising European corporates, private equity firms and sovereign wealth funds on M&A and corporate strategy. Prior to that, he was an analyst in the UK and Ireland M&A team at J.P. Morgan Cazenove in London.

Mr. Greene holds an MBA in finance from The Wharton School, a Masters in Law from Cambridge University and a Bachelor of Business and Legal Studies from University College Dublin.


 

Daragh Lane - Non-Executive Director

Daragh Lane is an investment professional in Cardinal Capital Group where he is focused on investing in and supporting growing Irish SME’s.

Prior to joining Cardinal Capital, Mr. Lane was an Associate Director at Investec Corporate Finance in Dublin where he focused on providing M&A and strategic advice to a variety of Irish corporates and Government organisations. Prior to that, he worked in GE where he was a member of the internal audit team, auditing businesses in the US and Europe.

Mr. Lane holds a BA in European Business from Dublin City University and is a graduate of ESC Reims, France.
