Payzone to Provide Top-up Service For New O2 Money Card

Payzone, Ireland’s largest consumer payments network, is to provide top-up services for the new O2 Money card.
Holders of O2 money cards can top-up their cards via their online bank account, in any O2 stores or at any of Payzone’s 1,500 plus retail agents throughout Ireland. This provides a convenient option with Payzone branded outlets well located and typically with opening hours to suit consumers. Payzone works with the country’s leading retail groups including Spar, Londis, Gala, Mace, Centra, Supervalu, as well as Esso’s ‘On the Run’ service stations.
Commenting on this latest Payzone development, Jim Deignan, Managing Director, Payzone Ireland said: “We are delighted to provide a convenient and secure top-up option for O2 Money card holders. The partnership is an ideal fit with our business focus of delivering leading edge payment services that drive greater efficiency for our clients and increased revenues for our retail partners. With O2 Money we are pleased to extend the Payzone offering to our expanding network of retailers and see the product playing an important role in the growing trend towards a cashless society.”

Consumers can now add O2 Money to the other Payzone services they use regularly including mobile top up, utility payments, M50 tolls payments and other prepaid cards. They can locate their nearest Payzone outlet by looking out for the pink Payzone sign or checking on www.payzone.ie.

About Payzone:
Payzone is Ireland’s largest branded consumer payments acceptance network. The company also operates across Europe providing a wide range of payments services in the UK, Sweden, Greece, Germany and Romania. Payzone implements and operates payment networks including mobile top-ups, tolling payments, credit and debit card processing, bill payment, money transfer and electronic gift solutions.  Payzone processes over 380 million transactions annually.

About O2 Money:
The new O2 Money card is neither a credit or a debit card, but rather a prepay money card onto which money is loaded in advance of it being used. Because of this customers can only spend what they put onto the card, helping them to manage their budget more effectively. The card is available to purchase in O2 Stores nationwide by customers of any Irish mobile operator who are over 18 years of age. Customers can top-up anything from €20 to €350 per day onto their card which, because it operates on the Visa platform, can be used almost anywhere that accepts electronic Visa payments, at home or abroad, in-store or online.
