Payzone, Ireland’s largest consumer payments network, has announced an agreement with postfone, one of Ireland’s newest mobile virtual network operators (MVNO), to provide mobile phone top-up services for postfone customers using Payzone’s retail payment terminals. The new service is being rolled out across the network of over 1,500 branded Payzone retail agents throughout the country.
postfone customers, who already are provided with exclusive mobile phone services throughout the network of 1000 Post Offices across Ireland, are now being provided with the additional option to top-up their postfone accounts across the network of Payzone agents. Payzone works with the country’s leading retail groups including Londis, Gala, Centra, Supervalu, as well as Esso’s ‘On the Run’ service stations. This range of retail outlets provides more convenient top-up options for postfone customers.
The top-up facility offered to postfone customers is similar to that already offered to O2, Vodafone, Meteor, e-Mobile, Tesco Mobile and Just Mobile. Launched in 2010 on the back of a €2million-plus investment, postfone operates on the Vodafone network and is targeting customers looking for a simple easy to use and good value mobile phone service.
Commenting on this latest Payzone development, Jim Deignan, Managing Director, Payzone Ireland said: “Today’s announcement is another great example illustrating how Payzone is growing its business by helping our partners and retailers grow theirs. With over 1,500 Payzone agents nationwide, we are a proven service provider and market leader in the provision of an over the counter payment collection facility, including mobile top-up, bill payments and utility payment collection.”
Speaking on behalf of postfone, David McCarthy, Programme Manager, said: “We are delighted to significantly extend the reach of our mobile phone top-up service to our customers throughout the country. postfone is committed to providing a simple, easy-to-use service at unbeatable value from a trusted mobile provider. This latest development with Payzone offers another reason for people to switch to postfone, providing a real alternative to the old, established networks.”
Consumers can locate their nearest Payzone outlet by looking out for the pink Payzone sign or checking on www.payzone.ie in the ‘store locator’ box.
