Refuse and Recycling Payments

Payzone was the first company to introduce an electronic pay as you go solution for the payment of domestic refuse and recycling payments.  Households are issued with a swipe card which they bring into a Payzone Agent to make a payment.  The card was first launched in conjunction with Kerry County Council in 2007 and has since been rolled out to other private waste operators and county councils throughout the country.

With this card there is no longer a need to use tags on bins.  There is no need for consumers to purchase, retailers to stock or for waste operators to produce the tags.

Payzone also offers a bill payment service to waste operators where a bill is issued to a household and the customer can bring their bill to a local Payzone Agent and pay the amount they wish to pay.

Some of the waste operators Payzone can accept payments on behalf of are:

  • South Dublin County Council
  • Kerry County Council
  • Greenstar
  • Fingal County Council
  • Country Clean
  • Eurowaste
  • Wastepal
  • Mulleady's Waste
  • Envirobin
  • AES
  • Killarney Town Council
  • Wilton Recycling
  • Wers Waste
  • Barna Waste Disposal

Customers are issued with a card which credit can be added to at the Payzone terminal.  Customers can pay annual charges, half yearly charges, recycling or refuse charges.  As a household’s bin is "lifted" by the waste operator, the credit on their account is decremented and can be recharged at any time. If a household’s account is not in credit, the bin will not be lifted.
