Staying safe online with Payzone
At Payzone, your security is our top priority. We want to help you stay safe when using our websites, app and payment services.
Scammers may use fake text messages, websites and apps designed to look like Payzone to trick you into sharing personal or payment information.
Always make sure you're using an official Payzone service before making a payment or entering your details.
Received a text about an outstanding payment?
As of the 18th of August, 2026, we are aware of fraudulent text messages (SMS) being sent to customers claiming that an outstanding parking payment is due.
These messages contain a link to a fake website designed to look like Payzone.
Payzone will never ask you to make a payment through a link in text message (SMS).
If you receive a suspicious text message:
- Don't click the link
- Don't enter any personal or payment details
- Mark the message as spam in your messaging app and delete it
- If you're unsure whether a message is genuine, contact us at parking@payzone.ie
If you have already clicked the link or entered your details, please contact your bank or card provider immediately.
Parking payment safety
The official ways to pay for on-street parking are:
- Using cash at the meter itself
- Through the official Payzone Ireland website https://www.payzone.ie/parking/park-now/zone
- Using the official Payzone app. Download on the Apple App Store or Google Play Store
Never scan QR codes displayed on parking meters.
QR codes can be replaced or added by scammers and may direct you to a fraudulent website.
Always use the official payment methods above.
How to spot the official Payzone app
Only download the Payzone app from the official app stores:
- Official app stores: Only download the Payzone app from trusted app stores - Apple App Store or Google Play Store. Avoid third-party websites or app stores.
- Developer name: The app should always list Payzone Ireland Ltd as the developer. Be cautious of any apps with similar names or those from different developers.

How to check you're using the official Payzone website
When making a payment online, always access Payzone through the official Payzone website rather than clicking a link in an unexpected text message or email.
Check the website address carefully.
- Check the URL: The website address should always be payzoneparking.ie or payzone.ie. Be cautious of any website that looks similar but has extra characters, numbers, a sub domain (e.g. payzone.payhere.com) or a different domain (e.g., .com, .net, .pay etc)
- Secure connection: Look for the padlock symbol in your browser's address bar. This indicates that the site is secure and that you are on the correct Payzone website.

A website can look almost identical to the real Payzone website, including our branding and styling, so don't rely on how a website looks to decide whether it's genuine. If you're unsure, close the page and access Payzone directly through https://www.payzone.ie.
Be alert to phishing scams
Phishing scams are designed to trick you into sharing personal, payment or login details. They can appear as text messages, emails or fake websites.
Be particularly cautious of:
- Unexpected messages claiming you have an outstanding payment
- Messages asking you to click a link to make a payment
- Requests for your card, account or personal details
- Websites that look like Payzone but have an unfamiliar web address
Messages creating a sense of urgency or asking you to act immediately.
